COVID-19 Re-Opening Protocols
Our day program is opening in a limited capacity at this time. In response to the coronavirus we have established some new protocols that are in place as of Monday June 1st.
There will no longer be access from the Gibbons Street door. Staff, individuals, and visitors will only be able to enter the facility from the front door. Upon entry all people will be screened for illness and will have their temperature checked. Once this has occurred you will need to go straight to your classroom or workstation. If you are found to be ill or to have a temperature you will be sent back home. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or greater will be sent home.
For the foreseeable future visitors such as ISC’s, therapists, or others not employed by or served by Sertoma must make arrangements with Sertoma staff and have visits scheduled/approved ahead of time. We are currently following DIDD recommended guidelines for limited face to face meetings and interactions.
There is hand sanitizer at the front desk, in all classrooms, the clinic, and at various other areas of the center. There is also soap and water in each bathroom and staff, visitors and people supported are encouraged to use these items.
There are extra efforts being taken throughout the day to wipe surfaces such as doorknobs and elevator surfaces. Classrooms have disinfecting wipes available for disinfecting during the day.
The classrooms have been arranged so that people supported can practice the recommended 6 feet of social distancing.
Please plan to wear a mask while at the center. This is a requirement for all staff and visitors. If a person supported is unable to wear a mask, extra efforts to support social distancing for that individual will be put into place. Please plan to bring your own mask as Sertoma has limited quantities of masks available.
If you are not comfortable returning to the program at this time, please feel free to remain home with your family until such time you feel ready. We want everyone to remain safe and healthy. YOU and YOUR safety are our first priority.
If you would like to return or would like for your family member to return to the day program, please contact Nicole Lemon at 865-524-5555 extension 223 or Taylor Dockery at extension 263 so we may plan ahead for your return.
